...my favorite tea mug that said "Caffeine First, Wizardry Later". I got it ages ago to test the CafePress printing system (which is pretty good). Got a little careless this morning, put it down too close to the edge of the counter, turned to pick up the teapot...and crash!

Oh well. The design was a little tired anyway, and imperfect -- the regular Tema Cantante font (that's the one they use for the titles on the YW books) doesn't work too well in smaller sizes or when there's too much text: the thin upstrokes get lost. The sans-serif Cantante, though, works better. So I've pulled the old mug designs and done new ones that wrap right around the cup instead of just being on one side. For anyone who's even slightly interested, they're here, in tea, coffee, cocoa, and generic caffeine versions (just the molecule instead of an image of a cup). You can click on the image below for a larger image showing the tea variant.

...And now I'm gonna go off and order myself one, because all the other mugs in this house are too small for the way I drink tea in the morning.

15oz, that's a nice sized mug, I definately need to get one of those (Tea version). At home I've taken to using a 3-cup french press ($5 from a local thrift store) to brew tea in because our cups are too small. Sometimes I've been tempted to just un-screw the plunger and drunk right out of the press.

I have one of those for loose tea: it's a favorite. It's been getting some regular use lately as P. tries to recreate the brand of custom tea that his grandfather mixed and sold in the family shop.

The CP mugs are quite nice, though. Very solid ceramic: heavyweight stuff. I was surprised (considering that it came down on a tile floor) how many pieces that mug didn't break into.

Mixed his own? Wow! What kinds does he blend?

It was Assam, Darjeeling and something else. (Peter had a sticky note in the kitchen with the combination and rough ratios of his grandpa's blend, but now I can't find it.) He's been feeling his way back to the original blend more or less by trial and error -- comparing the scent of his experiments against his memory of the scent of the original -- since his gramps never wrote it down. Fortunately the brain (his brain anyway!) is good at retaining scent memory -- it's one of those limbic-area, "lizard-brain" things.

i got my darling dad a "two lumps" 15oz cat mug (http://www.cafepress.com/twolumps.11320128) from cafepress one father's day. It is ergonomic, absolutely hilarious and the size of a small chihuahua. I love it most for its name, though.

Pity about the old mug, but thanks for the link! But seeing the one about spellcasting/podcasting, does anyone have a spell-checker that works on real spells? Mine doesn't recognise most of the words, let alone check them...

I have to admit a fondness for the old design... simplicity!

Though I smile to think of a tea mug with a picture of a teacup on it. Now if the picture were of the mug that the picture's going on... *grins*

No... *looks it up* That's trippy.

Once I pointed a webcam at the computer screen with the video display open. That was fun.

I'm tempted to order one, but the picture of a dainty tea cup on a big mug doesn't work for me. It doesn't convey my need for really large amounts of tea in the morning *grins* Any chance of a text only version or one with a mug? Please? *hopeful look*

PS: Go Mets!

I've been hunting for the right piece of clipart. (Of course, once I get one of these myself, I could probably do the recursive mug that's being discussed upthread. Though it will probably break my brain, too. :)

First off, I wanted to say that I adore your books. A friend turned me onto them several years ago, and I now wait eagerly for the latest and greatest from the Young Wizards world. I haven't started on your Big Meow, or the other cat wizard books, but I intend to.
Second, love the mugs! It is going on my birthday wish list.
Many thanks for your creativity, and your willingness to share it with the rest of us ^_^

If only I drank Tea...

::Sighs::

I can't drink those hot tea's and coffee's. I'm more of an iced french Vanilla in the morning.

(curiosity) Iced French vanilla what?

From: [identity profile] serenityfallen.livejournal.com
Well, Anything French Vanilla is good to me but what really gets me going-- and not to mention a good brain freeze is the coolada's from Dunkin' Donuts.

But when the money is low I settle for a french vanilla cappuccino from the bagel store and just put it in the freezer for a while.

I made the delightful discovery that vanilla ice cream + blender + espresso nearly duplicates the Starbucks Frappucino of the same flavor, only better.

I'm more of a "coffee first" person, myself, but I understand the sentiment of too small very well.

I had no idea you had a blog, and were self-publishing, and, well, HURRAH.
Would there be a helpful link for the hopelessly behind to read about how this came to be? (The self-publishing, I mean. I know how blogging happens.)
