Squeaky has thoughtfully pulled the fur off the hurt spot. There is an abscess there from something's bite -- cat? rat? Probably not bat -- which is now draining. Relief all around. Antibiotics tomorrow, though...

My sympathies in advance. If there's anything dogs and cats have in common, I suspect it will extend to their attitude towards taking their prescribed medicinals.

That's an understatement! This one is on daily meds for the rest of her life. She hates them. Luckily she doesn't have front claws.

Definitely a good thing.

When my dog used to need her meds, she never resorted to violence. Subterfuge was more her preferred tactic. Or quiet avoidance.

What a considerate boy! I'm glad that it's draining by itself--hope he feels better soon. Akaji (our black ex-tom) had abscesses in his feet when we got him--not self draining ones, either.

(I tried to be clever and use the Ailurin word for neutered tomcat, but couldn't find it...there is one, right? Couldn't find it in the Wiki.)

I see that you've put up another manuscript to tempt me with.

Ffeih. Used for both spays and neuters.

The sad part is, I didn't have to look that up.

Thanks! Between me and the husband we had 3 of the 5 letters right. Figured it was better to leave it out, rather than get it wrong. (Even when I can remember what the Ailurin word is for something I still have to look up the spelling, though.)

Cats are wonderfully resilient.

I'm sure he'll be peachy in no time!

Hope your cats are all soon feeling better. Cats are pretty tough, and usually recover well. My best to them.

Our cats return the favor when we're sick, they have excellent bed side manner, and will help keep us warm when we're sick and shivvering in bed. Sometimes I wonder which of us is the more civilized species.
