What I wish there was

I wish there was a sticky-note application for Windows that would let you drag the stickies onto an open MS Word document and paste them to it, and then save them as part of the document. And then when you were finished you could drag them off again, or just delete them. And they would look nice, and come in various colors, and let you tweak the fonts.

Anybody know any app that would do that? Please let me know.

I've got a program called StickyNote, which creates pretty stickies whose colour and fonts you can customise; and one ofe the menu items is "Stick to a window or document". So ...

I think they're out of business. I had a friend that used that StickyNote extensively, until her hard drive crashed. She went looking for the program again for her new system and couldn't find the company any more.

BTW, love iSnape. Can I steal him?

Well, the website still seems to be active - I've just looked, and StickyNote is priced at $19.95 for version 9 (mine is version 8.1). I originally had a slightly different version from a coverdisc with a magazine, called just Stickies, which was shareware from Looking Glass Technologies.

iSnape (and iSnape's hand with the wand) is by pen_and_umbra. I also have an iGranny by lady_twatterby.

Not quite what you're asking for, but the "comments" function built into Word can be used to create linked "sticky notes" that can be coloured and deleted at will. It's not quite "click and drag", but "cut and paste" from an external note will work fine. (Didn't think to check the "tweak the fonts", but it might be supported.)

The closest thing I can think of is OneNote which lets you connect doc files and notes and all sorts of kooky things.

I thought of One Note too... but it's a bit steep price-wise to use just as a page mark-up tool.

I know, and really you only get bang for your buck if you use the whole suite and have a tablet. But I've been using it for a number of things and it's pretty helpful when pulling ideas from lots of sources. I HAD been using it for my novel, but I found a program that did the index card shuffle a little closer to what I wanted.
