(snort) Defamer swings twice, connects twice.

In other multiple nominations news, Helen Mirren was recognized for playing both Elizabeth I in a TV miniseries and Elizabeth II in The Queen, an achievement that we genuinely hope you won't use to concoct transgressive, cross-generational fantasies that sully the monarchy. Leave the queens alone, sicky.

That's code-talk for fanfic, surely. So we can't all run out and start writing hot E-I / E-II pairings, then? Aw, shucks.

...Also a no-no, apparently: Bigfoot / Unicorn. (Seriously. There's video. And a fat lady who sings.)

...And jeez, it's true, you can find anything on teh Intarwebz. Look! Fanfic pairing generators:

Ultimate Star Trek Pairing Generator
Brain Hurting Pairing Generator

...This wet weather's beginning to get to me. I'm going to get some cocoa and try to forget all about this.

I tried the latter generator and got, among other things, Tristan/Steve Urkel.

*boggles*

Now my brain *does* hurt....

I love the Brain Hurting Pairing Generator (there's an archive on LJ somewhere where people actually write 'fics based on the pairings it spews out. They're very special.)

I have to agree with Defamer that an episode of 'Studio 60' about Award Shows is now all but inevitable.

Three amusing pairs I got were:

Gil Grissom (CSI)/Wesley Crusher (Star Trek TNG)
The knights who say NI (Monty Python and the Holy Grail)/Cordelia Chase (Buffy/Angel)
Will Turner (PotC)/Beverly Crusher (Star Trek)

I'd like to see somebody try that second one. :-)

My old friend [livejournal.com profile] dragonscholar is the twisted mind behind those generators! He's been up to that sort of thing for almost 15 years now... the original Superhero Generator and Villain Generator *waaaay* back when spit out a few things that haunt the corners of my mind to this day: "Jungle Dwarf" and "Baron Face", particularly... yike. We'd run that thing for hours, looking for the names that immediately suggested powers, an origin, and everything. It's surprising what your brain can come up with on only two or three words.

Jungle Dwarf. I mean, *ow*. :)

It says that the Internet eagery awaits my 14 part serial about a male Horta, a male Gorn and Uhura. Can I please borrow Commander Naraht to get the Horta point of view on this?

Okay, I liked the singing fat lady. But the rest of it ....
Well the current pairing competition here at the office is one of the reasons management is considering blocking the internet for private use.

Crossfandom pairing generator with sprites. Waster of many hours.

The seventh sanctum seems to be a wealth of silly suggestions. The pairings could be mind boggling or just downright bizarre, I mean when would Bono and Doc Emmet ever meet up?

Mind you the superhero name generator is just as much fun. Imagine the powers these heroes would have : -

Apexgargle
Cherry Claw
Cinnamon Protector
Divine Spit
Doctor Platypus
Drunko
Emperor Tack
Fleshwarble
Grope Stewardess
Tiger Doodler

Mind you you could do a variation of the old paper game of drawing a monster using the generators. Online party game?

Ack, well, he wrote the second of the two, anyway--the Brain Hurting Pairing Generator. Worst to date: Spock/Cookie Monster, Darth Vader/Frau Blucher (Young Frankenstein), Adrian Monk/Bill the Pony (LotR), and Charles Foster Kane/GIR (Invader Zim).

If you hear a little gurgling, it's my brain leaking out of my ears.

Somewhere in my LJ (I couldn't find it) is a Worf/Martok slash fic I wrote on a dare. It still hurts!

[livejournal.com profile] trdsf pointed out that my generator had gotten linked to. Glad you enjoyed it!

The generator was actually inspired by [livejournal.com profile] ithurtsmybrain, a challenge community, though they haven't launched a new one lately.

So would I. Now, the original early Buffy Cordelia, or the late Angel one?

So we can't all run out and start writing hot E-I / E-II pairings, then? Aw, shucks.

I'd incorporate it into Diana: Warrior Princess (http://e23.sjgames.com/item.html?id=ROW001), but I already have people boggling at Queen Victoria being married to Prince Albert Einstein, Diana being Bonnie Prince Charlie's ex, and Queen Elizabeth secretly being the criminal mastermind known as The Queenmother. There's no pleasing some people.

Oh my, I hitherto looked to world-famous reputable published authors as the last bastion of defence against masturbatory clone real-person necrophiliac queen-slash :)

Am I *supposed* to be imagining Elizabeth 80 years old, and Elizabeth dead 404? :)

I... there are no words for the Bigfoot/Unicorn video.

As in, the only reaction I was able to come up with was staring, gape-mouthed and twitching at the computer when it ended.

I didn't think that it could possibly phase me after the Brain Hurting Pairing Generator, but it did.
