I've been thinking about the redesign of EuropeanCuisines.com for a while now: while there's a lot of data there, the site's started to seem very static in terms of what other food sites have to offer. So we're starting to make some changes.

We're starting a new version of the site based on the open-source content management system Drupal.

Update: The new version of "European Cuisines" is presently taking shape at http://www.europeancuisines.com/drupal-4.7.3/. now running at http://www.europeancuisines.com. The older install in the subdirectory has been removed, as it was confusing Google (which must be avoided at all costs.) ;)

There's still some tweaking going on. In the meantime, if you have a little time to spare, feel free to check out the new version of the site and try out the new features (user registration, comments, forums, etc).

Thanks!

Well, clicking on Ireland in the left-hand column links to http://www.europeancuisines.com/drupal-4.7.3/Ireland and gives a page not found.

Or has this not been moved over yet?

Also, when I registered, the e-mail I got suggested that, upon logging in with the supplied password, I would be redirected to a page where I could change my password. Instead, I was redirected to the main page.

There's a problem with the Basic Fondue recipé (not with the result - you didn't want the pattern left in the pot, did you), but with the page layout. Under Opera 9, the headline 'Basic Fondue (Fondue Neuchateloise)' overruns the picture to the right. Also, it brings up an Adobe Flash right hand click menu - really odd.

Ah, disabling plug-ins seems to clear both of those up.

Oh, yes, some of the headers on the registration message are a bit odd:
From:
Reply-to:
X-Mailer: Drupal
Errors-to:
Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable
Broken headers are quite likely to be treated by some Bayesian ant-spam filters as an indication of spamware.

Hmm, weirdness. Want to try it again at the new location and see if the same problem comes up?

Double hmm. Try that again, see if you get the same result?

Yup, thanks for that. I hadn't yet given the site a dedicated email address at the point when you signed up.

No problem. I'll mention things I expect are temporary glitches because who knows, it might have been something you were unaware of.

Right O. You might want to stop in to the relocated site and see if it's behaving correctly. Also, if you have time, try what Feorag was trying -- pretend you need to change your password, and see where you wind up.

OK

Ah, I need to wander off to work now, so that's unlikely to be before this evening.
