And of course he had no license. Only Democrats are permitted to hunt Quayle.

I feel a certain sympathy for the victim, but also a certain sense of schadenfreude on behalf of the quail. Hey, hunters with guns around! Of course it's going to be dangerous.

HAH Yes, I was talking about that to one of my friends, and she said something along those lines, too. Hadn't even occurred to me, I admit. Other comments included "with is heart condition...should he even be out hunting??"

I had read the first article about the shooting, but I hadn't heard about VP Cheny not having the proper liscence...

It would seem that he isn't (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060214/ap_on_go_pr_wh/cheney_whittington), in fact, getting tweezed.

Frankly, this is one of the very few times I think the critics are OVERreacting. So he was dumb and disregarded gun safety. Given that the usual stuff he does qualifies him to get taken down by Batman, this is pretty silly stuff.

And anyway, I live on a quail-infested mountainside. I love all life, but I really can't blame anybody for wanting to shoot the stupid little buggers.
