Do you know what's happened to the paperback version of this? I had it on order from Amazon UK (expected delivery sometime in April) and I just went to check it and they now list it as "not in stock, don't know when or if it will be available". So I've just ordered the hardcover (which is in stock, and therefore should arrive tomorrow). I'll leave the paperback on order in case it ever appears...

I can't find any other UK bookshops which even acknowledge its existence in any format.

I can only that Amazon somehow got very confused about the paperback, because Harcourt tells me it's not scheduled until 2011 (April again, I think). In any case, these books have never had a simultaneous hard/soft publication.

Sorry about the confusion! Have fun with the hc, anyway. :)

Amazon's database being confused is not at all unusual, unfortunately (at least you weren't caught up in the Macmillan/Tor mess, which resulting in several of my preorders going missing). Thanks for the information about the schedule (a year betwen them does seem more usual, the exception is usually when a book is h/c in one country and p/b in the other).

I prefer paperbacks for portability (they fit into my backpack pockets or at a pinch even into a coat pocket), but given the choice of waiting a year or getting the hardcover now my bank manager knows what I'll do *g*...
