Well, not too far beyond, we hope.

I'll sure be watching this on the lunchtime news...

Falling, with style?

Isn't that the definition of flying? Falling and failing to hit the ground?

I wouldn't say "failing to hit the ground". Rather, "planning to choose very carefully to survive the speed at which he intends to hit the ground."

Which will make the afterparty all that much cooler, yes?

Well, easier than if he failed totally to ever hit the ground certainly *g*.

"Isn't it hard to fly a plane?"
"No, not really. Taking off is more difficult."
"How about coming down?"
"Coming down is REALLY REALLY EASY. Surviving it is the tricky part..."

Alas, as I understand it, it doesn't have the thrust for a takeoff from a standing start. You have to jump off a cliff, tall building or get dropped from a plane.

So introducing these by the thousands - or even the hundreds - into the skies over Manhattan, Los Angeles or Tokyo for example, may not be the best of ideas, then?

Pity.

Not if I happen to live UNDER the inevitable three dimensional traffic collision, thanks. (Bad enough with the frippin' helicopters overhead at all hours of the night.)

Oh my - the wee hours are getting less wee. Time to shut up and go to bed...

That's nothing that a JATO unit couldn't solve!

Might need skates though...

Jumping off a cliff or a tall building...JUST the thing to start off my usual corporate day!

Well...

Save for the facts that I am an acrophobe, that I don't have the space, money or skills to buy or maintain it, and that the airspace around where I live is so Balkanized that flying would be impractical, if not impossible, I still want one!
