Meanwhile, I truly feel there might be better things to run on an iPhone or iPod Touch.

My brother showed me that beer app on his iPhone when he took me out for breakfast yesterday. I thought it was cute.

Okay, virtual beer may be pointless, but I want you to know that the current top-25 paid app on the iPhone store is called Koi Pond. I feel sure your characters could find a use for an app like that.

You should wait about that long anyway; for two years running, the iPod line has been updated in September. Also, the "buy a Mac, get a free iPod" promotion ends September 15th; those promos are usually Apple's way of clearing the inventory out before a new model.

I'm setting aside a few bucks for a new iPod Touch myself.
