Here's a really nice BBQ grill

We’ve been idly looking for something to replace our old rusty hibachi. This looks like a nice possibility. It’s British (but the sales source is in the US: must see who’s carrying it locally).

The grilles both swing in and out and are height-adjustable (with the big one, the swing facility this means you can add charcoal or wood chips or whatever without fuss). The ash box underneath has a handle and pulls off for emptying. The chopping board is bamboo. Behind it you can see the utensil hooks.

Very neat!

Wow, that's pretty slick looking! I like the swinging grills, and the handles look very solid. The block looks like you could actually prepare something on it, rather than having to do all the prep work in the kitchen and bring it out in bowls.

I wish I could have a charcoal grill again, but one of our neighboring apartments almost burned down their deck, so we're limited to gas only.

*boggle* surely your at just as much risk with gas if you're already incompetent enough to start a fire with a charcoal BBQ?

I believe the coals fell out of the grill onto the deck, probably a bad catch-tray for the ashes. That's a bit less likely to happen with gas.

I like kettle/weber style BBQs - because I like cooking over coals and not gas and I like the ability to close the lid to regulate the flame when the inevitable fat flame happens - it also means I can shut the lid towards the end to make sure everything is finished at the same time. This being because I tend to run the BBQ almost every dry day in the summer and want food ready for a typical mealtime rather than a "some of it's ready, who's hunriest/fastest?" method :)

If we did what we keep saying we're going to do, I'd actually be cooking on a solid hotplate over a brick built wood & charcoal fire - with _maybe_ a grill set at one side. There's a distinct lack of tuits around these parts at the moment.

That's a nice looking grill. A quick google shows there should be a few places you can get it from online at least.

Now back to what I was supposed to be googling which is how to get silly putty out of fabric (see my LJ for details).
