Just in passing:

Hand-painted truffle bars

The tea stick (such a clever thing, I'm just in love with it)

Chocolate deities (including the Galactic Butterfly, Our Lady of Willendorf, and Hotei the Immortal)

The 100% ChocoCafe

...And for those of you who've noticed that the EU is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Rome this weekend:

The 54 European Union Cakes for the 50th Birthday (we're going to start collecting the recipes: the list proper is here.) Two cakes from each country in the Union. First up, from Germany and England:  Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte and Eccles Cakes.

Thanks for the link to the EU cakes. That's a great way of celebrating that important anniversary. :-)

The teastick does indeed appear brilliant. I assume it works smoothly? If so, I shall pop out to my conveniently located neighborhood teashop that seems to be carrying them...

The teastick works great, honestly. I know the designer, he's local to me.

Eccles cakes, yum. I fell in love with these the last time I was in London, and have a version that I can make here in NYC, except I never quite translated the amounts correctly. OH well, they are still incredibly delicious.

I have a real weakness for blackcurrant syrup in my Guinness, too. I suppose that is an abomination.

Those hand-painted truffle bars are too pretty for words. I may have to go and see if I can recreate something similar myself. :-)

I don't know, but have you seen the Koo-Ki Sushi (http://www.kookisushi.com/) stuff? It's definitly my favorite.

What possible market segment can that be aimed at? I mean, just out of simple prudence, who in their right minds...?

Just about all the Lokians I know :-) It's definitely a more Loki thing than, say, a Tyr thing :-)

Looking at the recipie for Black Forest cake after reading todays paper made me wonder if you ever check out the Observer. They've got an article in their monthly food magazine about a German baker who's set up in Edinburgh and his comments about British baking are interesting to say the least. The text of the articles are on the Observer website but if you want to see pictures too then let me know and I'll post you the magazine. It's their annual food awards issue so there's lots of good eateries and drinkeries listed.
