Because Alan was asking. Here are links to two pages with (a) lots of goulash links, and including (at the bottom) goulash the way Peter made it today, which worked out really well: and (b) some other goulash recipes.

Yum. And thanks.

I guess that feeds quite a few.

It made a potfull in the biggest Le Creuset pot, and we're on our second day. P added some stuff to it this afternoon, and we're *still* almost finished with it. It was really good.

Ooops. Well, I'll try it in our largest Le Creuset, since that hasn't been used since ... Sunday. (And was ridiculously ovrsized for a cottage pie, so didn't actually get used then.) This looks like it'd fit nicely.

...and the [livejournal.com profile] bellinghman's version is very good too - in the middle of eating it now (in front of the computer 'cos Battlestar Galactica is recording and we don't want to watch it 'til we've caught up...

I did it pretty much straight.
  • The lard was half lard, and half bacon lardons (cubes of streaky bacon for those who don't know), but the lardons needed finishing up anyway.

  • The peppers were fresh - one each red, yellow and green.

  • The paprika was Kohinoor brand mild, three tbsps. I have hot, but I'm happy not going too hot to start with on one of Peter's recipés.
And 40 minutes simmer in the big Le Creuset pan.

Yummy - tell P that it turned out pretty near as good as some of the Basler ones.

Mmmm...that does look good. I will have to try it the next time I have a chunk of beef in the house.

And there are some recipes with no tomatoes.

I guess we'll be having goulash!
