I roared. Someone email this to JKR, quick...

The seventh and last installment of boy wizard Harry Potter and his antics at Hogwarts, sinisterly titled Harry Potter and the Deathly Gallows...

Whoopsie!  (snicker)

Much better title. "Hang the little slug!" as Richard III might have said...

Speaking of writerly errors, seen this?

There goes a lot of irreplaceable material, I sadly suspect...

Talking of sinister, one of the places local to us is named Caxton Gibbet. (Google Maps reference.)

Yes, the gibbet is still there (or was last time I checked, anyway), by the side of the road. It's a little odd to be eating in the fine Chinese Restaurant close by and to be gazing at it over one's meal.

It's a crossroads. And what is now the minor road is what used to be the Great North Road, alias Ermine Street, the Roman road down which Constantine the Great came to London after his acclamation in York. So when the gibbet went up, it was a major crossroads.

Brilliant! It actually makes more sense than the REAL title!

moonreviews: Dutch cover of His Dark Materials book 1, "Het Noorderlicht" by Philip Pullman (hermione-regenauto)

Where did you find that typo? In a newspaper?

The working title of the Dutch translation is 'The Deathly Sanctuaries', though it isn't sure yet if that'll become the title, because the translator only gets the book the day it is published in England.

That's okay. It's a TYPO. But I saw a Guardian article actually refer to the author of said book as Joanne Rowlands.

I mean, WTF?!

I don't know if it is a *complete* typo, it does say "sinisterly titled" and the word "deathly" all by itself doesn't seem like enough for me unless they really were trying to sensationalize it... silly press people

As opposed to the holistic, life-affirming gallows.
