Pre-migration warning re: The-Big-Meow.com

Just a note to interested parties about how this is going to go...

Early tomorrow morning we're going to lock down the Big Meow website preparatory to its move to the new server at Lunarpages, where the new installation of v.5.0 of the Drupal content manager is being prepared. An "under maintenance" page, with links to the TBM weblog and the Wordpress and LJ versions of "Out of Ambit", is all that will show there.  (The weblog will be unaffected, and we'll put the occasional note up there as to how the transfer is going.)

That temporary index/ redirect page will then vanish too as the old server is instructed to assign the domain to its new home (probably early on Thursday), and the new DNS settings propagate themselves around the Net. It's possible that the site will be completely missing between Thursday and sometime Friday.

The new "coming soon" page is already in place at the new server. That may not vanish until Saturday: I want to make sure that the new installation of Drupal is behaving itself before throwing the switch.

good luck! i will be watching this space for when all is ready to accept my money next week. after re-reading "to visit the queen" last weekend, it's definitely time for TBM
