So Star Trek is corny. So what?

Or it's corny this year, anyway.  From Reuters:

A British fan of the cult TV show "Star Trek" has boldly gone where no man has gone before and created a giant maize maze dedicated to the program.

 ...I foresee many, many such strange things happening this year to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Trek. (Such as the last of the Rihannsu books coming out.)

StarTrek isn't a cult show, it's far too mainstream. If everyone over age 10 knows who Capt Kirk is, it doesn't quite qualify. [/rant]

I am humbly awaiting the next installment of The Big Meow, the last Rihannsu novel, A Wizard of Mars, *and* the omnibus edition of the Rihannsu series to replace my exceedingly beat-up paperbacks. In fact, most of the books I've been awaiting this year have been of your authorship. (Kushiel's Scion is the only exception that comes to mind, and I've already read that.)

By the way, I hate to admit how many times I read The Romulan Way before I noticed that Kirk and Spock are nowhere in it. *g* I can practically quote the part about how S'task reacted when they heard of Surak's death.

My copies of everything from The Wounded Sky onwards are in similarly disshevelled condition from decades of re-reading and travelling wherever I could take them. It might well be time for replacement-by-reprint, although I'd miss the original art of the original covers...

Point of clarity? Your page lists the contents of the omnibus as being all *five* books. The Pocket books page seems to list only the fist four in that, with the fifth only independent. Confused now...

In 2001, there was an alien-themed maize maze in Massachusetts, on a farm which does a different theme each year. It included UFO's, aliens, and Elvis. It's a nice complicated maze, with a 3-dimensional component (bridges), so following the right-hand rule isn't enough to get you out.
