As someone who frequently indulges in pastimes (like the writing of epic fantasy) that involve the extinction of humanity (or various other important species), this button strikes something of a chord, as it deals with a slightly more challenging variation on the theme...

Current Earth-Destruction Status

The whole website is one of those quiet labors of love that you sometimes stumble across on the Web. (like VillainSupply.com, now gone, alas...) Thanks and a tip of the hat to Fern at Spectator Mode, without whom I wouldn't have found it.

Oh, okay. Are you seeing it now? (It's a .png, and I know IE is supposed to have issues with those...but I just checked it on my own machine's IE, and it displayed all right...)

Actually, I saw it fine in IE, it was Firefox I couldn't see it in. But now it shows up, yes.

And. Heh. It makes me think of Hitchhiker's Guide.

It's a good thing they deal with integer values for genocide, the site would be significantly harder to collect information for if they worked in real numbers.

I especially appreciate the last entry in the "powered by" list on the lower right-hand corner. That's my favorite HTML editor as well.

I would never have noticed if you hadn't posted this, but I was linking to the old copy of the site (and hence the old image link, which might not have worked in some browsers). Whoops, indeed!

Brings back memories of attempts to slow the orbit of the moon, causing it to crash into the earth. And then moving to Australia.

it's a good one...
