*sigh* I really, really needed to read this today. Nothing makes you feel entropy speeding up like working retail, I think, and I needed to be reminded about treating people like *people* even when the courtesy is not returned. So thanks, for being the kind of writer who can dispense such pure wisdom in amongst the little details of everyday life that really flesh out characters I've loved since I was in grade school.
