How about trying to have a 'Convention Fund'?
Start Saving now, and you can Afford the Discworld Con next November (In Theory, at least) :-)
Also....the Hotels get to be rather Costly as well....
If a few of you are going, you can Share the Room, and Split the Costs (Hotel doesn't need to know about that part)
