My head was hurting already

But someone else's has been too. Fellow Green Lantern fans, here's a question for you:

Why is Hal Jordan always getting hit in the head with stuff??

He's not the only one!
Think of Sam Spade and most other "gumshoe" detectives. I'm surprised they didn't start waring helmets after the oh 10th time or so!

I recall having similar thoughts while watching the Lord of the Rings movies. I recollect Aragorn ending up unconscious at least once per film, one such instance being the result of an event that makes me quote Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid every time I see it ("I can't swim!" "Are you crazy? The fall will probably kill you!").

I do not just now remember whether he gets knocked on the head quite that often in Tolkien's novel, though I suspect not. OTOH, novel!Aragorn probably sensibly wore a helmet.
